Yellow Woodsorrel has a shallow taproot and has leaves that contain 3 leaves that are shaped like hearts. Yellow flowers have five petals.  The leaves are smooth but have a hairy on the margins.

 How to Kill Yellow Woodsorrel

Preemergent crabgrass herbicides have shown to effective in controlling yellow woodsorrel. Normally a higher concentration of herbicide is needed to control yellow woodsorrel. After post-emergence, try herbicides containing triclopyr or carfentrazone.
